The 2014 BET Honors aired Monday night (Feb. 24) and featured show-stopping performances in honor of Aretha FranklinBerry Gordy, Jr.Ice Cube, the late Nelson Mandela and others.  In case you missed it, here's a re-cap of all the performances.

The 2014 BET Honors was actually held in Washington, D.C.earlier this month.  The event featured live performances from the R&B divas Mariah Carey to Jennifer HudsonTamar BraxtonJanelle Monae and a surprise performance from the Queen of Soul herself Aretha Franklin.

Mimi sang her new single, ‘You’re Mine,’ during the tribute to Berry Gordy, Tamar performed Diana Ross‘ classics ‘Do You Know Where You’re Going To?’ and ‘Upside Down.’  Then Janelle Monae, who's always got an energetic show, did her flawless rendition of Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘A-B-C.’

To top off the night, J. Hud wowed the crowd with a medley of Aretha Franklin hits during her tribute to The Queen of Soul, including ‘Think’ and ‘Natural Woman.’   Not to be outdone, Aretha gave a jaw dropping performance as she paid tribute to the late Nelson Mandela with a rendition of Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come.’
