2019 Mardi Gras Holiday Garbage & Trash Collection

With parades in full swing throughout the coming weekend and into the week, there will be no garbage and trash pickup on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in observance of the Mardi Gras holiday.

According to a City of Lake Charles media release, Monday, Thursday, and Friday’s routes will remain the same. Tuesday’s garbage and trash will be picked up on Wed., March 6, 2019.

All services of the Department of Public Works,all recycling stations, including the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Incinerator will close on Tuesday, March 5. Regular hours of operations continue on Wed., March 6.

The City issued a reminder for residents, citing "containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection". Also, the owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
