‘24: Legacy’ Bosses Plan to Bring Back Chloe, If Not Jack Bauer
FOX has made reasonably adamant that next year’s 24: Legacy would serve to carry on the spirit of the franchise moreso than its characters, something Kiefer Sutherland aggressively seems to corroborate. That said, producers might have in mind to return at least Mary Lynn Rajskub’s Chloe before long.
TVLine pried a few hints out of executive producer Evan Katz from Comic-Con 2016, most notably that where Jack Bauer remains in captivity (as does Kiefer Sutherland at ABC), they have “plans” to feature characters from the original series after all. Says Katz:
We have plans [for Chloe] … Right now, our clear priority is [establishing] these new characters, and have the audience build a relationship with them. But we have some surprises planned.
As viewers of the prior 24: Live Another Day revival will remember, Chloe was last seen traded by the Russians for Jack Bauer, who was then carried off to parts unknown. It could stand to reason that Season 1 of Legacy sticks largely to new characters, but Chloe would eventually need help to go after her old friend, wouldn’t you think? Just sayin’.
In the meantime, so reads the 24: Legacy synopsis:
24: Legacy follows a military hero’s return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back — compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. Told in real time with split screens, each episode will represent one hour of an eventful day.
In addition to Corey Hawkins in the lead role, the new Sutherland-produced series stars, Miranda Otto, Anna Diop, Teddy Sears, Jimmy Smits, Dan Bucatinsky, Coral Pena, and Charlie Hofheimer.
The premiere won’t arrive until 2017, but might Chloe make an appearance in Season 1?
