It's about to go down in Shreveport, LA! The rap mogul/entrepreneur 50 Cent is expanding his directorial brand and making Shreveport the new home for his G-Unit TV & Film Studios. Fif did the city a solid and singlehandedly brought the property value up by purchasing abandoned buildings and vacant lots in the Downtown area.

In May, he used his money to buy 10 properties for $2.4 million and vacant lots on 301 Spring Street for more than a million. 50's recent investment makes him the second-largest property owner in Caddo Parish.

In the words of Biggie..."If you don't know, now you know!" No one appreciates the rapper/actor/director's investment in the city more than Mayor Tom Arceneaux. This is a win, the Mayor told 12 News. “He is coming in not just to do films and videos but to invest in Shreveport.”

Now that Fif has set up shop in S'port, he's planning a star-studded festival this August! As Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor put it, " I think we haven't seen this level of excitement with the filming industry since 2006!"

50 Cent will present the Humor & Harmony Festival live in Shreveport, LA, from Thursday, August 8, through Saturday, August 10. The four-day festival will take place at three venues: Independence Stadium, Stageworks, and the Shreveport Convention Center. The line-up is lit!

Ice Cube's Big 3 basketball league is coming through with a celebrity basketball game, with an A-list group of comics and music artists performing daily. Peep the event flyer below:

So far, more than 60,000 followers have signed up for more info about the 50's first annual festival in Shreveport. “We’re also working with the state fire marshal’s office because there are some things now at the stadium that we may have to do, some changing around out there to work on existing capacity,” said Mayor Arceneaux.
