Alicia Keys Is The New Global Creative Director for BlackBerry (VIDEO)
BlackBerry is looking to make a comeback with a new line of smart phones. With an effort to spark some enthusiasm about their new products, they've enlisted the help of Alicia Keys.
Mrs. Swizz Beatz will help in the marketing of the company’s BlackBerry 10 campaign, which features two phones, a touch screen only model and the traditional keyboard style. As the original smartphone, BlackBerry has been struggling to compete in the world of Droids vs. iPhones. Because of that, they've gone back to the drawing board and made some smart, creative and exciting improvements. For more details click here.
One of the many tasks Alicia will have is to help promote BlackBerry's creative use of their phone's advanced capabilities. She will be working with BlackBerry app developers to retailers, to bring attention to the ways their multi-functional operating system can be used. On top of that, she's going to put her money where her mouth is and contribute to BlackBerry as well.
During a brief interview, Alicia said of her new position, "I’m going to work closely with the app designers, the carriers, to explore this BB10 platform. I’m definitely going to start with other super women who also love BlackBerry, and work with people in the entertainment and music business to inspire creative projects. And I want to enhance this concept, or bridging the gap between the work phone and the play phone."
BlackBerry President and CEO Thorsten Heins said, “We are excited she will be bringing to us her enormous capabilities, as well as a vast network of relationships in the entertainment, social media and business communities, to help shape our brand and grow our business.”
