American Job Center Offers Employment & Aid For Training Programs

If you've never had the opportunity to go to tech school or get professional training, here's your chance. The American Job Center(AJC) just announced that not only are the helping residence in the area gain employment, they're now providing financial aid for job seekers to get professional certification.

The center is temporarily located on the 6th floor of the Magnolia Building, 1011 Lakeshore Dr. If are looking for work or need financial aid to go back to school for training go to www.calcasieuparish.gov/americanjobcenter now for more info. The employment offers may last up to one year and are available to job seekers in the five-parish area.

Some of the employment opportunities are in the following fields:

*Temperature Readers
*Custodians
*Information Technology Workers
*Food Bank Workers
*Laborers and Customer Service Representatives

Financial aid is available for training programs and certifications in the following:

*Certified Medical Assistants
*Class ‘A’ Commercial Driver’s Licenses
*Forestry and much more

The AJC is still operating under COVID-19 capacity restrictions. All visitors are strongly advised to wear a face mask upon entering the building.
