Anderson .Paak, Young Buck, Riff Raff and More: New Projects This Week
The month of April continues to produce a bevy of new hip-hop releases. This week is no different with fresh projects from artists all over the map and style spectrum.
Only months after Oxnard hit retailers, Anderson .Paak is back with his new album, Ventura. Bouncing back from the less than stellar reviews associated with his previous drop, the Aftermath artist delivers an 11-song project with a star-studded guest list. A slew of legends are featured throughout .Paak’s fourth studio album, including André 3000, who is on the album’s opener “Come Home,” and Smokey Robinson, who can be found on the single “Make It Better.” The late great Nate Dogg closes out the album with “What Can We Do?,” which also features soul sisters Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan and Lalah Hathaway.
Pink Python is the new album from Riff Raff. The Neon Icon’s project features contributions from Chief Keef and Killah Priest and songs titled “I Just Bought a Brick From Christina Aguilera,” “8 Pounds of the Drake” and “Indiana Bobby Knight Hoosiers.” Riff Raff's first release of 2019, Pink Python follows last year's 10-song Tangerine Tiger project.
Young Buck comes back with his second release of the year. Following February's Box of Chocolates, the Cashville rapper puts out the new project Compulsive. Boasting 10 tracks, Buck goes mostly solo on the new release and taps KoKane on the song "Roll Up."
