Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda was sentenced on Wednesday, October 19, in a Manhattan Supreme Court to serve seven years in prison.

AllHipHop.com reports that Bobby, real name Ackquille Pollard, was granted credit for time served. In addition to waiving his right to appeal his sentence, the “Shmoney Dance” rapper will spend five years on probation after his release in 2021.

Bobby Shmurda has been behind bars since December 17, 2014, after he was arrested along with his GS9 crew during a police sting operation in Manhattan. The bust netted drugs and weapons that were seized by police, where the rapper was later charged with conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and more.

Pollard reportedly took a plea deal in September of 2016 where he plead guilty to "conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon, in exchange for having his other counts dismissed." The “Hot N***a” rapper now claims he was forced to take a plea deal by is attorney.
