Bruno Mars was yet another artist under fire from Kanye West after receiving an award the rapper felt was unjustified—Three years later, the singer has finally divulged his thoughts on the matter. While many were expecting a counter to West's claims that Bruno won awards solely based off of his marketability and good looks—the "Uptown Funk" singer is not fazed by any of it.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone after being asked about the 2013 incident with Yeezus, Bruno says West is an essential figure in today's music scene and has much value. He continues that while he understands Kanye's comments— he actually only won one award at the ceremony in question- The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

"I won one award!" Bruno told Rolling Stone in response to Kanye's comments at a Yeezus Tour show in 2013 . "But he was right about the pretty part. It's Kanye – bottom line, at the end of the day, we need Kanye. But what he said wasn't a sting. You can come at me all you want – I've set myself up for that. But I am my own biggest critic. Whatever anyone says to me, they don't know shit." He continues, "But me and him, we're cool. He called me and apologized. Kanye loves me, man. You know that. Who doesn't? I'm Bruno Mars!"
