In other news, Lebron James is multi-tasking these days, the 4 time MVP is curently looking to make that number 5 as he's also seeking his 4th NBA Championship. The basketball baller has his own TV series on Stars. Did you know that? It's true, Starz has picked up six episodes of his new scripted comedy called Survivor’s Remorse.
Loosely based on Lebron's James’ rise to fame in the NBA, the series follows basketball prospect Cam Calloway in his early 20′s as he navigates between his greedy family, so-called hometown friends and the pitfalls of fame. Lebron James will executive produce the TV show along with longtime friends and business partners Maverick Carter and Paul Watcher.
Production is already underway, with the show being shot in Atlanta. The first of six episodes will debut on STARZ this Fall, so be on the lookout. IF that's not enough, Lebron will also try his hand at acting listen to Tha Wire below and find out what Summer blockbuster he'll be in and with what big actor.
Finally, since 2010 Ashanti has been dealing with a stalker who's been using social media as a way to harass the R&B singer. Brooklyn native Devon Hurd was convicted of stalking and sending dirty photos to the singer and her mother. Things have gotten so bad that Ashanti has been forced to file charges and get a restraining order against him. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Unfortunately, Ashanti's restraining order has done little to deterred the deranged man. Interestingly enough, the 35-year old sees his disgusting messages as being some form of entertainment. He even testified in court that a masturbation photo sent to Ashanti and her mother was "for the ladies," and denies that the tweets violated a protective order.
Obviously, dude is twisted. Earlier this week (Tuesday Feb. 4) he appeared in court to answer to charges of tweeting explicit images and messages and actually told Justice Charles Solomon he wasn't fit to make a judgement on the case because, he's not social media savvy.
"You said in the courtroom you don’t know what Twitter is? If you can't understand what Twitter is, how can you be capable of making a decision?" Justice Solomon countered he's well aware of Facebook and Twitter he just doesn't use them. He then started to address the "disgusting tweets" Hurd sent Ashanti, when the man cut him off mid-sentence, claiming, "There were no nude photos! It was all entertaining stuff."
Sad thing is, his lawyer, Glenn Hardy, is just as deranged as client and shared the same sentiment saying outside the courtroom, "Can one really be harmed by Twitter? No. He (Hurd) didn't intend to injure or harass anyone."
Crazy right? For now Ashanti is feeling safer as rumor has it, she and Nelly are back together. By the way, her stalker is a little tied up these days. Listen to Tha Wire now to find out why.
