Bright Star Theatre Group presents a Black History celebration and presentation on Saturday, February 24, 2024. The public is invited to the celebration, and to learn the history of world-renowned pioneering heart surgeon Daniel Hale Williams, writer and scholar Ralph Ellison the iconic poet, and civil rights activist Maya Angelou, and many others.

Celebrate Black History Month and the trailblazers who did the extraordinary, changing the course of American History. There will be two Black History presentations on Saturday. One will take place at 10 AM at Central Library, located at 301 W. Claude Street, and the other will begin at 2 PM and take place at Sulphur Library, located at 1160 Cypress Street.
