Currensy did not need much time to craft his next project. The New Orleans rapper went on Instagram today (June 22) to announce a new EP titled Stoned on Ocean with Cool and Dre serving as executive producers. Spitta also revealed that the entire EP was recorded in just one night.

"#stonedonocean recorded one smoked out night in Miami ... 6 track ep executive produced by the legendary @coolanddre @recordroomstudiosmiami artwork by the man @fortyfps thanks for always knowin what I mean haha," Currensy wrote.

Cool and Dre's participation in Stoned on Ocean marks the second time in 2016 that the production stalwarts have worked with Currensy. The duo collaborated with Spitta earlier this year on The Owners Manual EP, which kicked off the rapper's impressive run of new releases.

The arrival of Stoned on Ocean will make it Currensy's seventh project of the year. The tremendous pace of new music that Spitta has kept up in 2016 reminds many fans of the New Orleans native's acclaimed mixtape run in 2008. Quite a few of the projects have served as unique opportunities to work with specific producers. For example, Currensy teamed up with Purps of 808 Mafia on the Bourbon Street Secrets EP and Sledgren on the Revolver EP.

If you are concerned that Spitta's release schedule would produce some diminishing returns, don't be. The constant output has not affected the quality of Currensy's music. In fact, XXL recently named he and The Alchemist's collaboration The Carrollton Heist as one of the best mixtapes of the year so far.
