D'Angelo who has gone on record to say that he was heavily influenced by Prince, paid tribute to the late singer. D'Angelo appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show and performed one of my favorite Prince songs. The song came from the Parade album and featured not only that song, but also the chart topping single "Kiss" and "Girls and Boys".

What was a little shocking was that the tribute featured Maya Rudolph who was a cast member from SNL and also tours as a Prince cover group called "Princess". Although I knew D'Angelo could hold a note, I didn't know that Maya had that voice also. But I guess I should have known since her mom was singer Minnie Ripperton who slayed back in the day.

D'Angelo does Prince cover during The Jimmy Fallon Show:

Definately a touching moment with the crew and D'Angleo always leaves it all on the stage. I am sure that he will be dropping another album soon as his last album actually got a Grammy nod and did well in retail.
