Did You Know Louisiana Has A Nursery Festival?
Make plans to attend the 37th Louisiana Nursery Festival in beautiful Forest Hill, one of Louisiana's oldest nursery regions. The festival is St. Patrick's Day weekend on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17. If you have a love of flowers, this festival is going to blow your mind. Taking center stage are the hundreds of flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees in every color, shape, and size you can imagine.
According to experts, March is the perfect time to get out in the yard and spruce up your yard's curb appeal. So, that's just another good reason to check out the Louisiana Nursery Festival! Bring the whole family and make a day of it. Enjoy the festival parade, and a carnival and bring your appetite, because there will be plenty of food vendors as well.
The Carnival is a Nursery Festival favorite and features several rides, games, and delicious carnival treats such as funnel cakes, hot dogs, and candle apples. See the hours of operation below:
Also, be sure to grab one of these brightly colored Nursery Festival T-shirts while you're at it! Since 1985 the Forest Hill community has shared this festival with neighboring cities. Today the festival has grown by leaps and bounds and draws hundreds of locals and people from surrounding states.
This festival is very important to Forest Hill, which is home to at least 60 nurseries because the proceeds help support their fire department. Gardeners or residents looking to perfect the skill of growing plants and flowers are urged to visit the LSUAg Center booth for some great tips!
