Today in Tha Wire Snoop Dogg has been hosting the BET's Hip Hop Awards since 2013, but looks like he's going to passing the mic this year.  According to reports 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards will hosted by the one and only DJ Khaled.  The fact that their changing out hosts isn't anything new.  The ceremony first aired in 2006 and their very first host was Katt Williams, after that it was T-Pain, then Mike Epps and Snoop.

Khaled has some big shoes to follow, but I'm sure he's up for the challenge taking to Instagram posting, “Be ready!! Fan luv !! I got us !!!”  By the way he's had plenty of practice, as he recently joined Charlamagne Tha God and Lizzo of Wonderland to serve as one of the masters of ceremonies for the MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show. So he's ready.

Khaled is super excited about his upcoming hosting duties and said during a recent interview, “I am extremely honored to be a part of such an incredible show that has watched me grow as an artist and mogul throughout my career. The Hip Hop Awards are synonymous with a night of stellar performances and tributes to the greatest hip hop artists of our time. I am excited to bring cloth talk and the major keys to the Hip Hop Awards for an iconic and memorable show!”

Khalid is also up for a few awards too.  This year Drizzy leads the pack with 14 nods, followed by Future with 10, Khaled with 9 and Kanye West with 8.  To see a list of all the nominees, click here.  As far as the line-up of performers or this years Ciphers...not sure. Keep you posted on that.  Meanwhile, it's going down!  Don't miss all the action with the Snapchat King, the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards will broadcast on October 4.

In quick news Rapper Kid Cudi has reportedly dropped out as a cast member in the Fox smash “Empire.” Apparently after shooting only one episode, the rapper had some “creative differences” with producer’s of the show. So he's out and Master P's baby boy, Romeo Miller, is steppin in.  Ro will be taking over the role of Gram, an independent musician named who has beef with Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray).  Peep the fire trailer for Season 3 below.

Finally, R. Kelly has reportedly been hit with another tax lien by the IRS.  This time around the singer is being hemmed up to the tune of, $192,000, over back taxes from 2012. Unfortunately this isn't the first time the 49-year old R&B legend has had to deal with Uncle Sam on this level.  Kells had tax issues in 2014 and was hit with a $146,530 tax lien by the Feds over alleged missed payments from 2009, 2011, and 2012. He also had to pay $6.2 million for unpaid taxes for the years 2005 to 2011.  Wow...mo money, mo problems.
