Drake Wins Favorite Hip Hop Artist at the 2017 AMAs
Drake took home the award for Favorite Hip Hop Artist at the American Music Awards last night.
The win was that surprising given the monster success of his last album, More Life. The album broke the single day streaming record at Spotify.
Drake also landed in the top tier of Forbes 2017 Highest Paid Hip Hop Artist list, alongside JAY-Z and Diddy. Drake was at #2, earning a cool $94 million. While it's fashionable to throw shade Drake's way, there's no denying that Drake is dominating not just rap, but music.
Chance The Rapper recently went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he sang Drizzy's praises.
"I love Drake," he said. "I think we live in a time where people are ashamed to say how much they love Drake or enjoy what he does. I'm totally rebelling against that. I just want to say shout out to Drake and your whole team."
Just last week, Drake had fans going crazy with just a snippet of some new music he's working on.
At any rate, suffice to say that his most recent AMA win caps a year of winning for the rapper, and he doesn't show any signs of slowing down.
