As previously reported the drama surrounding the Lifetime biopic, Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, was reaching a feverish pitch.  So much so, Disney star Zendaya Coleman backed out of the starring role, sighting too much confusion with Aaliyah’s family’s protests of the movie among other things.

As they say “the show must go on” so, Coleman was quickly replaced by Nickelodeon star Alexandra Shipp and now comes word Lifetime has cast the roles for longtime Aaliyah collaborators Timbaland and Missy Elliott.

Actress Chattrisse Dolabaille and actor Izaak Smith have some big shoes to fill, as they've landed two of the files most important.   TheBoomBox reports Dolabaille’s never had a lead in a film, while Smith has had more experience starring in flicks Mirror Mirror and So You Think You Can Dance?

Other major roles cast for the upcoming movie include the parts of her parents, former boyfriend Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash, her uncle Barry Hankerson and her brother Rashad.

In case you didn’t know the Aaliyah Lifetime movie is being executive produced by talk show diva Wendy Williams.
