Famous Dex just had a serious medical scare.

On Friday (Nov. 1), TMZ reported that the Chicago rapper appeared to have suffered a seizure while performing at Los Angeles' 1 Oak this morning. In a statement to the outlet, a rep for Dex confirmed the news: "We wish Famous Dex a speedy recovery after his epileptic seizure last night. He is currently in good spirits and hopes to return back to finishing his new album. He thanks all his fans for their prayers and well wishes."

In a video from the scene, you can see Dex being held by security and fellow rapper Jay Critch as he's incapacitated by the seizure. Rich The Kid is also seen looking on as the scene unfolds.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department says they got a call about someone having a seizure at 2 a.m. and they arrived minutes later. There aren't many details about Dex's seizure, but there's a chance he speaks on it when he is well.

It's unknown what led to this seizure, but Dex left many of his fans very concerned about his apparent battle with drug addiction after he passed out during an Instagram Live session last year. Dex himself has spoken on drinking lean, and lean is said to sometimes lead to seizures.

In the past, artists have dealt with seizures related to codeine consumption. In his new memoir Hurricanes, Rick Ross admitted that his codeine abuse led to him experiencing seizures.

In April Dex announced that he'd quit lean and Xanax. XXL has reached out to Famous Dex's team for comment.
