The City of Lake Charles will host a conference about child safety and wellbeing on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The FREE one-day event will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center’s Exhibition Hall and is open to anyone interested.

There will be five guest speakers discussing topics like:

  • Adverse childhood experiences
  • Risk reduction methods of SIDS and accidental suffocation
  • Child passenger safety
  • Nurturing parenting
  • Sexual abuse
  • Substance-abused newborns
  • Stress relief

According to a press release, “foster parents can receive up to five continuing education units for attending.”
