Fyre Festival Goers File $100M Suit Against Ja Rule After Being Scammed Into A Vacation Nightmare – Tha Wire
Today in Tha Wire rapper/actor Ja Rule is currently being dragged by guests for organizing a music fest, that turned out to be a catastrophic disaster. The Fyre Festival was being promoted as a luxurious music festival in paradise, featuring big stars, live performances, world class gourmet food and lavish accommodations. Fest goers were supposed to be flyed out of Miami, on a private jet bound for the Bahamas, where they'd stay in their own luxury beach villas.
Tickets varied from a reported 1K, to as much as $12K a peice! Peep the promotion video for the festival below.
Looks nice right? Well fest goers are reporting that they didn't get the high-end getaway they paid for. Their saying The Fyre Festival resembled a scene straight out of the movie, Hunger Games. According to reports by several media sights, guests arrived to find they were staying in tents on the beach, with NO running water, air conditioning, or electricity! There were no stars on the island, and food was almost non existent. A video filmed by a duped guest below says it all!
Luggage pickup was great. They brought the bags in and guests got to unload them for fun. In the dark. It built character. #fyrefestival pic.twitter.com/0gUUBnEjUc

As you can see, this is pretty unbelievable. The Washington Post reports now the rapper/actor and his patna, are being sued to the tune of $100 million dollars in an all out federal class action lawsuit. They should too, because they basically left their guests to fend for themselves putting all of them in an extremely unsafe situation. They had the nerve to offer people who paid thousands for an event, bread and cheese in place of the "world class cuisine" the advertised. THERE WASN'T EVEN A BAR!!!!!! Guests said they were becoming a bit panicked, because they weren't able to leave right away. They were actually stranded on the island for several hours. Amazingly enough there wasn't any safety measures taken to protect people. No security, no medical facility, nothing! It was down right scary. The whole thing is outrageous and potentially dangerous. Get more info on the island horror story below.
Meanwhile TMZ reports Fyre released organizers acknowledge they messed and said, "things got off to an unexpected start at day one." Uh...ya think? Legal docs from the case state ,“The festival's lack of adequate food, water, shelter and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees." That it did! This is just insane.
Finally would you believe organizers are offering customers VIP tickets to next years event as and way to apologized for the false advertising? WTF? As always I will keep you in the know, as more details become available. Tune into Tha Wire every weekday on The People's Station.
