The other day a bunch of us from the radio station went to Walk-On's in Lake Charles for some lunch. Walk-ons are one of our favorite places to not only eat but to have some drinks and meet to blow off some steam.

The food and atmosphere are second to none and we know a bunch of folks visit the restaurant every week. But we want to know, have you ever looked up and seen what is lurking underneath the awning at Walk-On's in Lake Charles?

So after we finished eating, we all walked out of the restaurant and were standing underneath the awning talking when I happened to look up and said to myself, What in the heck is that? This is what I saw!

I took a double take and then realized it was an owl just perched up at the top of the awning. Then I realized that it was a fake owl when I saw its head move in a mechanical way and not like a real-life owl.

Then I looked on the other side of the awning to notice that there was a second fake owl perched under the awning. So if you are counting, that is two fake owls that are sitting under the awning by the front doors of Walk-on's in Lake Charles.

So I decided to do a little research and found out that these fake owls work off of wind and are there to scare off birds. I mean when your walking in to eat, no one wants to have bird droppings fall on their head so it's pretty genius.

Then I found an advertisement for these owls and thought I would share with you how they exactly work.  Enjoy.
