The movie is Disney's "Moana" and the event gets underway at 6:30 p.m. This is a perfect time to spend some quality time with the family, my daughter and I love going to these outdoor movie events. This Friday come out and enjoy the moving story of a Hawaiian princess who discovers her father has been keeping a secret from her and their tribe.
Moana (Auliʻi Cravalho) decides to leave her island in search of help when village fishermen can't catch any fish and the crops fail. His father, the Chief, is against it but her Grandmother knows the ocean has picked Moana to lead her tribe. So, she leads Moana to find massive ships her ancestors built and learns they were voyagers. She sets off on an epic journey across the Pacific to prove herself a master Wayfinder to save her people and island. On her journey, she meets the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), and together they cross the ocean to fulfill an unfinished quest.
Moana is (Rated PG) and the film will start at dusk (6:30). Be sure to wear mosquito repellant and bring along chairs or blankets. There will be food vendors on site, but residents can also bring their own snacks or food. In addition, there will be free popcorn and cotton candy available. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled. For more info go Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
