2019 symbolizes another 365 days for artists to show and prove while waiting for the accolades to roll in. Then you have rappers like Kodak Black, YBN Nahmir and Cardi B, whose efforts in recent years have awarded them their just dues less than three weeks into the new year.

On Jan. 2, Nahmir jumped on Twitter and wrote: "Lets have a great 2019." One day later, the 2018 XXL Freshman broke ground as the first hip-hop artist to be certified platinum this year for his breakout single "Rubbin Off the Paint." The news came three weeks after his other standout track, "Bounce Out With That," earned a platinum plaque on Dec. 14.

"Falling Down," Lil Peep and XXXTentacion's posthumous collaborative effort, reached one million certified units on Jan. 7. ILoveMakonnen mixed the fallen rappers' vocals together on the track, which was originally sans XXX.

"X had heard the snippet on YouTube and he wanted to be a part of it and he recorded some parts to it," Makonnen told XXL in 2018. "[X] ended up passing away, and his mom and his family were reaching out to Peep's management and everybody saying the song was something that [X] was very passionate about before he passed and he would really like to be a part of this and [asked] if we could make this happen."

As for Cardi B, 2019 is somehow looking to be better than last year. Singles off her debut, Invasion of Privacy, are still soaring sales-wise, including the SZA-assisted "I Do," which was certified platinum on Jan. 9. A couple days prior, "Be Careful," a fan-favorite off the LP, went double platinum, with over 2 million certification units.

Upon finding out the news, the "Money" rapper posted a screenshot of her accomplishments and wrote: "Put in Fuckin work." Okurrr!
