Hurricane Chris Charged With Second Degree Murder in Shreveport
Hurricane Chris, best known for his hits Ah Bay Bay and Halle Berry was arrested following a weekend shooting at a Texaco gas station in Shreveport around 1:00am Friday morning.
Local news stations report the rapper, whose real name is Christopher Dooley Jr., told police he and the victim got into a tussle over his vehicle in the parking lot.
According to police, Dooley has claimed self-defense. However, the motive of the shooting is still under investigation, and Dooley has been arrested and charged with second degree murder and possession of stolen things.
Shreveport Channel 12 News reports Shreveport PD aren't buying the rapper's excuse of self-defense. The gas station, located in the 2600 block of Hollywood Ave, allegedly caught the entire shooting, and police say it tells a different story.
The Caddo Parish Coroner identified the victim as 32-year-old old Danzeria O. Ferris Jr., who was allegedly trying to steal the car Hurricane Chris was driving.
Here's the twist in the story: the car Dooley allegedly shot Ferris over was reported stolen in Texas. More details are pending the completion of the investigation.
