With the help of a Shakespeare except ‘ledger’ and ‘persevere a social and news site called The Royal Frontier is making a name for themselves by taking classic Hip Hop songs and making a few changes.  The result, is a transformation of the lyrics to reflect how people talked back in the 1500's, when William Shakespeare was alive. The first rap icon highlighted in their modern rap-to-Shakespearean series was the greatest storyteller of all time, Slick Rick and his "Children's Story."  Using the English poets dialect they transformed the rap song, about the wrong path, into A Knave's Tale.

AllHipHop reports in August The Royal Frontier tackled the prolific lyrics of another iconic rapper, The Notorious B.I.G and "Juicy."  The Frontier flipped his 1994 rap classic about going from the struggle, to the limelight to, JVICY.  As it turns out, both words date back to late-Middle ages and were actually in use during time of Shakespeare.

The latest Hip Hop legend to get Shakespeared by The Royal Frontier is the one and only Ice Cube.  The great rap storyteller and actor, gives the ghetto version of what a good day is in his historic tune, "It Was A Good Day."

Words from Cube's 1993 monster hit, got the translation treatment in The Royal Frontier's Twas A Good Day.  It's all pretty crazy, but very cool all at the same time.  Not really sure why they decided to take Hip Hop lyrics and transform them into 1500 century dialect, but then again...why not?  FYI prints of all Shakespeared songs are available for purchase at society6.com.
