This weekend, all roads lead to Kinder, Louisiana, for the 28th Annual Coushatta Powwow, a powerful celebration of Native American culture, unity, and heritage. Hosted by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, the powwow takes place June 9–10 and is one of the largest in the southern United States.

This family-friendly, alcohol- and drug-free event welcomes visitors of all backgrounds to experience the sights, sounds, and spirit of traditional Native American powwows.

Regalia isn’t a costume—it’s cultural armor, woven with family history and tribal identity. From buckskin and beadwork to modern elements, every piece holds meaning.

PLEASE NOTE: The Arena Is A Sacred Place. Visitors Are Humbly Asked To Wear Respectful/Modest Attire

Men: Long-sleeved shirts and pants

Women: Long skirts or dresses that cover the shoulders

No hats, halter tops, short shorts, or bare feet inside the arena
