Today in Tha Wire Ice Cube has his hand in every business venture a person could imagine.  The kid from Compton, Calif. and others like him, have smashed the stereotype that people from the ghetto are a lost cause.  The Ice Cube's, Tyler Perry's and Oprah Winfrey's of the world have proven that no matter your circumstance, you can achieve anything you're willing to work for.  It's all about work ethic, resilience, mental strength, drive and ones belief in oneself.   It's not where you come from, but where you're going.

O'Shea Jackson Sr. went from gangsta rapper, to achieving everything on the planet in the world of TV and film, to more recently becoming a sports franchise owner and game show executive producer.  As of this month Cube comes to American livings rooms, with Hip Hop Squares.  An obvious "rap spin" on the iconic game show Hollywood Squares, which debuted back in 1966.

The updated version debuted March 13, 2017 featuring the biggest stars in Hip Hop and R&B, and various other actors and comedians from urban entertainment.  Of course Cube switched up the rules of play, an the set is slightly different, but the game concept is pretty much the same.  Plus celeb contestants are funny and entertaining, as they're put to the test on how well they know their peers in nearby squares.  Below is a few samples of Cube's version of the famous TV game. Enjoy!

By the way, this is the second time Hip Hop Squares made it's way to TV.  The first version aired in 2012 on MTV2, and was hosted by New York radio personality Peter Rosenberg.  The show only ran for two season though.  This time around Ice Cube is running things and so far, the hippest game show on TV is a hit.  Hosted by the hilarious comedian/actor DeRay Davis, anything can happen.  Tune-in every Monday night, and watch Hip Hop Squares at 8 p.m. CT on VH1.
