McNeese Athletics has a long and proud tradition that has helped shape the identity of Southwest Louisiana sports for generations. Over the years, McNeese has built a reputation as one of the most competitive programs in the Southland Conference, producing championship teams, All-Americans, and professional athletes across multiple sports.

McNeese State has had success over the years in every single sport on campus. Whether it's the glory days of Cowboys football, the current days of Cowgirl Softball, McNeese Baseball, or the previous and current success of the McNeese Basketball program. Because of all of this, McNeese has one of the best sports histories in Louisiana.
