McVey’s Seafood 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil-Off Set For May In Lake Charles

Can you boil crawfish? Do you think the way you cook it, season it and present it is the best way to do it? Well, now you get to prove it. Here is a way to put your money where your mouth is and prove that you are the ultimate crawfish boiler.

Then get ready as McVey's Seafood is holding its 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil-Off on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 outside at Mary's Lounge in Lake Charles. The event takes place from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm that Saturday.

Understand this, if you are not interested in boiling, there is also a party going on the same day with live music and plenty of crawfish to eat! That's right, on the day of the event for only $25 you can eat all the crawfish you can starting at 2:00 pm.

Teams can sign up between 9:00 am to 10:00 am that day for the Crawfish Boil-Off, and boiling starts at 10:00 am until 1:45 pm with judging starting at 2:00 pm.

There will be live music all day starting at 11:00 pm and going until 10:00 pm. The entertainment lineup is:

• 11:00 am -2:00 pm -- Lolo Boudoin & The Lakeview Playboys
• 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm -- Blake Pickel Band
• 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm -- Johnny Jimenez 

The event is FREE to attend and open to the public. They also boast a family-friendly environment. They will have fun jumps, face painting, snow cones, and much more for the kids.
