Route Info For Tonight’s Mardi Gras Merchants Parade in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - Well its finally here, folks, and what everyone who loves Mardi Gras has been waiting for. Five straight days of Mardi Gras mayhem and fun as parades, floats, parade goers, and revelry take over the city.

It all gets underway tonight with the annual Mardi Gras Merchants parade in downtown Lake Charles. This parade is geared towards businesses having the opportunity to be in a parade and showcase their brand while filling up your bags full of Mardi Gras treasures like beads, cups, t-shirts, and toys.

You will see all of our great locally owned businesses on display at this parade on floats, trailers, sports cars, trucks, and even our world-famous Luxury Limo/Gator 99.5/Deep South Productions Buddy Russ Bus. That's right, Townsquare Media and Gator 99.5 will be rolling down the parade route in this huge black bus that you definitely won't miss.

All the floats will begin to line up at the Lake Charles Event Center for the Merchants Parade starting at 3:00 pm, and the parade is set to roll starting at 7:00 pm. The parade route is:

• Starts at the Lake Charles Event Center
• Moves along West Pine Street
• Turns south on Ryan Street and travels several miles
• The parade then ends at the corner of Ryan Street and Sale Road in South Lake Charles.

The roads for the parade will also close in anticipation of the parade.
