Are you ready for a family-friendly event going on in Lake Charles and Moss Bluff? Do you have any plans with your kids in October? Well, now you may have plans.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced that the popular movie series "Movies Under The Stars" is back for a Fall run. It will take place every Friday night in October 2023 at different locations with different movies being shown.

It all gets underway on Friday, October 6th, 2023 with the movie Scoob. It's an animated movie featuring the one and only Scooby Doo. This movie will be shown at Prien Lake Park, 3700 Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles.

Then there will be three more Friday Movies Under The Stars scheduled. Here is the rest of the lineup:

Friday, October 13th – “Monsters University" at the McNeese State University’s Bulber Auditorium, 4205 Ryan Street in Lake Charles.

Friday, October 20th – “Addams Family" will be shown at Mallard Junction Park, 599 August Drive in Lake Charles.

Friday, October 27th, 2023 --"Coco" and this movie will be shown at River Bluff Park, 543 Theriot Road, Moss Bluff.

Each week, the movies will start at 6:30 p.m. Laura Heller with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury said,

Be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and food. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event.

Movie-goers are also invited to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes to each movie.

Movies will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

So make plans to go one Friday or all Fridays. Here is a great event to take the entire family to and enjoy a night out.
