Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana, get excited because the Rosa Heart Theatre is coming back. The Lake Charles Civic Center which has the Rosa Heart Theatre in it got serious damage in 2020 when Hurricane Laura and then Hurricane Delta came through six weeks apart.

The damage from the storms caused the city of Lake Charles to undergo a rebuild and so did the entire Southwest Louisiana area. Lake Charles Mayor went on Facebook to talk about the Rosa Heart Theatre and his excitement that it is coming back. Mayor Hunter said,

Having the Rosa Hart Theatre reopen after Hurricane Laura is a major milestone for the City. This should be an opportunity to celebrate the theater itself but also the life and legacy of Rosa Hart. We had several key public and private partners come to the table in a joint effort to do something very special for this grand occasion.
