Things To Do In Lake Charles And SWLA This Weekend August 25-27

Well, the weekend is here thank goodness, and after a long week of work, getting the kiddos to school and home, and just the everyday same ole same ole, we are all ready to get out of the house and do something fun.

There are several things going on in the Southwest Louisiana area like concerts, high school football jamborees, and even a gun show. Let's get to it. Here is a list of things to do this weekend.

Gary Allan will be live Friday night at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center in Lake Charles. He will hit the stage Friday night starting at 8:30 p.m.

The annual Fleur De Lis Dance is taking place Friday night at the West Cal Event Center in Sulphur, Louisiana featuring Ryan Foret  & Foret Tradition. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the music gets underway at 7:00 pm.

High School Football Jamborees started last night and continue tonight in the area. Here is the lineup of tonight's games.

Sulphur Jamboree Night #2 at Sulphur High School

Pickering vs. Vinton, 4 p.m.

DeQuincy vs. Rosepine, 5:30 p.m.

LaGrange vs. Sulphur, 7 p.m.

St. Louis vs. Welsh, 8:30 p.m.

Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns will be live in concert on Saturday night, August 26th in Lake Charles. They will be performing live at Linda's Lounge located at 4338 Lake Street. The show will start at 9:30 pm.

The Lake Charles Police Department will be holding a recruitment day on Saturday morning at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles starting at 8:00 a.m. Click here for the details and the requirements.

The New Orleans Saints will play its final preseason game of the year this Sunday night in the Big Easy. They will host the Houston Texas and the game will be in primetime on national television. Kick-off for the game will be at 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on FOX.

The Lake Charles Gun Show will take place at the Lake Charles Civic Center this Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Admission is $9 and children 12 and under are free.
