
Louisiana Man Arrested for Chasing People With Hammer, Punches Woman
SHREVEPORT, La. (KMDL-FM) - A terrifying scene recently unfolded in Shreveport, Louisiana as a man reportedly began chasing and threatening people with a hammer during a domestic dispute. He's also accused of damaging a vehicle with a hammer as well as punching a woman in the face.
Shreveport Man Chases People With Hammer
According to KALB.com, on the morning of March 13, at approximately 9 a.m. Shreveport Police received a 911 call about a fight at the Advance Auto Parts in the 8900 block of Mansfield Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that a man and woman had been chased into the store by a man allegedly armed with a hammer. Witnesses told police at the scene they saw the man with the hammer chase another man and woman, who were in the parking lot, into the Advance Auto Parts store.

During the investigation, police were able to identify the man with the hammer as Weldon Trant. Police say not only did Trant chase the victims, but that he also damaged the man’s car with the hammer and punched the woman in the face.
Police later learned the woman has an active protective order against Trant.

Trant was able to flee the scene before police arrived, but was later found and arrested.

He now faces charges of simple battery of a dating partner, violation of a protective order, and aggravated criminal damage to property.
