An annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. This eclipse will be visible to millions of people in the Western Hemisphere.

This Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse will take over the sky in SWLA. Gather the family or get your friends together and watch the show. A solar eclipse is when the moon lines up between the Earth and the sun.

This causes the sky to go dark, but this occurrence blocks the sun with the exception of its outer rim. At this precise moment, the bright border lights up the sky with brilliant light. This cool occurrence will reportedly last for roughly five minutes.

According to NASA, this amazing light show is actually a rare occurrence known as the "Ring of Fire." This event is said to pass over a track that will be seen from the western U.S., Central and South America. Incredibly, millions will see this celestial marvel that will stretch from the coast of Oregon to the Gulf Coast, then all the way to Brazil!
