After pulling together a who’s who of hip-hop elites for Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation recording sessions, J. Cole unloads a new single.

For “Middle Child,” Cole once again taps T-Minus for production. The two previously worked together "Kevin's Heart." Cole does the T-Minus track some justice by coating it with some hard-body bars.

"Niggas been counting me out/I’m counting my bullets /I’m loading I’m clips/I’m writing down names /I’m making a list /I’m checking it twice and I’m getting them hit," Cole spits on the track, evoking images of classic, fire-in-his-eyes Jermaine.

Known for dropping out of nowhere, Cole gave fans a heads up for this particular track. This time, the announcement appeared on his Instagram page, which now only hosts four posts, including videos of interviews featuring icons Bob Marley and James Baldwin.

“New single coming 1/23 @ 9pm. Cole x @tminus,” Cole wrote in the caption for an Instagram post he uploaded Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 22).

Also serving up a forecast of the song was veteran beatsmith !llmind. During the Revenge sessions, the producer caught a sneak preview of the track that left him speechless. “U know what? I don’t even have words” the producer yesterday. “I’ll just leave this here.”

This track is just the latest bit of activity from J. Cole, who's has kept himself busy as of late. Aside from putting together his squad project, he’s also been spazzing out on a bunch of features from 21 Savage’s “A Lot” to Royce da 5’9”’s “Boblo Boat.” It's a good time to be a Cole fan.
