James Browns daughter Deanna Brown has launched a lawsuit against the Ohio makers of her dads signature hats.  Curtis and Marilyn Gibson said they were stunned by the suit and that they was unaware of any problems with the Brown family.

Deanna faced them in court this past Friday and told the Plain Dealer newspaper of Cleveland she sued the couple as a last resort. Deanna claims that she repeatedly asked the couple to turn over a silver cape made for her father before he died in 2006.  James died before he got a chance to wear it, but it still had tremendous value to the family.

Deanna claims that she paid the Gibson's $7,000 for what ever James Brown collectibles the couple had which allegedly included that hat.  The sole reason is because she wants her father's items for a museum exhibit.
