On Saturday, January 7, Jamie Foxx had a brief altercation with a restaurant patron who physically attacked him, before he put the man in a choke hold until security came to remove the him.

The “Sleepless” actor was out with friends on the patio of Catch restaurant when the man approached the group to complain they were too loud. They attacker told them "You don't want to mess with me. I'm from New York,” and another comedian at the table replied “F*** you I’m from Oakland.” That’s when he lunged at Foxx, sparking the altercation.

The Oscar award winning actor released a statement Tuesday, January 10, via Instagram regarding the incident.

Gotta set the record straight. Can’t we all just get along? East coast west coast! Remember when they push and shove it’s only love!

 

Jamie Foxx’s latest film “Sleepless” is in theaters beginning Friday, January 13.
