According to Entertainment Tonight Janet Jackson's Unbreakable World Tour has come to a screeching hault.  Technically, the tour hasn't started.  The first official show is gonna be in Vancouver, Can. on August 31st.  However, rehearsal as far as nailing the choreography for the dancers and various other preparations have pretty much stopped.

It's all for good reason.  While celebrating her 87th birthday in Brazil, Joe Jackson suffered a stroke over the weekend.  Janet didn't waist no time rushing to her fathers side and put the tour on the back burner.  Quite frankly that's the way it should be.

People Magazine reports Mr. Jackson was admitted to Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital where doctors were running tests and that he is in high spirits.  However, InTouchWeekly and RadarOnline are reporting his condition is much more serious.  According to their sources Jackson senior, who's also a diabetic, allegedly had a series of small heart attacks following the stroke and is critical condition.  Jermaine Jackson confirmed some of those reports on Twitter, tweeting:

While TMZ revealed the stroke left him temporarily blind.  Whatever his condition, we certainly wish Mr. Jackson a full and speedy recovery.  On Monday (July 27), the Jackson family elder was still in Brazil and posted a statement to his fans from his hospital room in Sao Paulo:

"To my family, friends, acquaintances and fans all over the world. I want to thank you all for your prayers, unwavering support and kind well wishes during these trying times," he wrote. "Through God's intervention the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and caretakers at the Albert Einstein Sao Paulo hospital have taken great care of me. God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon. Thank you all once again for your prayers and support."
