Today in Tha Wire Jay Z's new album, 4:44, is already certified platinum! It's been six days! Crazy right? Not really. Make no mistake the Hip Hop mogul's still got mad rap skills, but more importantly a whole lot of hustle. Hov's new album, dropped less than a week ago, via his streaming company TIDAL and by way of a sweet deal with Sprint. Matter of fact, Hov simply took a page from his own playbook to achieve his latest platinum status.

Back in 2013 Jay teamed up with Samsung and shocked the world to land platinum status in one day, with Magna Carta Holy Grail. In that deal, the tech company bought one million digital copies of the LP, before the album’s release. So, that's how it went platinum the day it came out. All Hov did, was work the same deal with Sprint. It's another huge "W," either way it goes. Of course fans did plenty of downloading over the weekend. Sprint and TIDAL customers gained exclusive access to the highly sought after album, by way of mp3 or Daft downloads.

All this and the physical copy of 4:44, doesn't drop till tomorrow (July 7, 2017. By the way customers will be happy to know the hard copy, will have three bonus tracks. According to reports the songs are previously sampled "Adnis," a joint called "Blue's Freestyle/WeFamily" and "ManyFacedGod" featuring James Blake.

Only one thing to do, cop the album and find out what all the fuss is about. By the way 4.44, is Hov's 13th platinum album! For all things entertainment listen to Tha Wire daily for the scoop and only on The People's Station 107 Jamz.
