And just like that, it appears the long-awaited new Kendrick Lamar album is coming soon.

On Monday (April 18), a press release was released via Kendrick Lamar's website, which seems to signal he will be dropping a new album next month.

"The following statement was released today by oklama," the statements starts. It follows up by simply offering an album title and release date. The LP will be titled Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers and it will drop on May 13.

"The factual information for this release will come directly from this source only," the press release concludes.

Oklama is the name Kendrick seems to be going by these days.

K-Dot added further evidence that this will be his next album by retweeting a post from a Twitter user saying the Compton, Calif. rapper was officially retired and then Kendrick posted the link to the press release announcing the new LP.

It's been 1,830 days since Kendrick Lamar dropped his critically acclaimed Damn. album, and fans of the MC have been clamoring for a new project since then. However, the beloved rapper has remained mostly elusive musically over the past five years.

Kendrick Lamar broke his silence on the new album last August, announcing he would be parting ways with his longtime record label Top Dawg Entertainment following its release. "As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years," the "Alright" rapper wrote. "The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life's calling."

"There's beauty in completion," Kendrick Lamar added. "And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I've prayed for you all. See you soon enough."

Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith later confirmed the amicable split. "The whole goal when we started the thing was to make music, make money, and make history," Tiffith wrote on social media. "We did those things 10 times over and then some. TDE and its artists have provided a way to end generational curses that we were all personally born into over the last 17 years in this business."

He continued, "With this being Dot's last album on TDE, this is more of a VICTORY LAP, a celebration. I know he will be successful in whatever it is he decides to do and will have our FULL SUPPORT. As for Top Dawg Entertainment, we will continue to grow, develop and give artists the platform to expand into whatever way they choose."

In January, there were rumors that Kendrick Lamar would debut a new single during or around his performance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. That, of course, did not occur. But, now we have a new album dropping in less than 30 days.
