Kevin's nightmare began when a man accused the puppeteer of having a sexual relationship with him when he was 16.  Clash, took a leave of absence from Sesame Workshop when the allegations were made public.  However no sooner did 24-year-old Sheldon Stephens go public with his allegation of sexual abuse, he recanted his story.

Now comes word that a second man has come forward making those same allegations.  Clash is currently being sued by Cecil Singleton, who claims he met Kevin in a gay phone chat back in the early 90's, when he was 15 and Clash was 32.
This is obviously to waaaaay to much drama for Sesame Street to deal with and because of that, they have released the following statement, "Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from Sesame Street. This is a sad day for Sesame Street."

In the meantime, TMZ previously reported Stephens signed a $125,000 settlement with Clash, but has since expressed regret over signing the deal.  Now he's insisting that Clash's law firm Andreozzi & Associates pressured him to take a settlement for publicly recanting his story of the underage sex claim.  Stephens is still standing by his original story that he had a sexual relationship with Clash when he was only 16-years-old and the puppeteer was 45.  On top of that Stephens has sought new legal representation.  By the way,  word has it there is an email paper trail confirming their alleged romance. There's no word from Clash's camp on the latest news, but it's safe to say that it is a wrap for him playing Elmo on "Sesame Street".  No word yet as to if Elmo, will come back to Sesame Street with a different puppeteer or not.
