Kevin Gates Won’t Be Released from Jail Just Yet

Kevin Gates was set to be released from the Polk County, Florida jail on today, March 24, after serving 180 days for kicking a female fan at a concert Lakeland, FL back in August 2015. As he was being processed at Central Booking they learned there was an out of state warrant issued for his arrest.

The Bread Winners Association rapper is set to be extradited to Cook County, Illinois on an out of state warrant for felony weapons charges. He remains in Polk County until his extradition.

According to XXL, Gates reportedly has a rap sheet in Illinois stemming from charges he received in 2013. The charges include "aggravated unlawful use of a weapon."

No word yet on when he will be extradited.
