Kodak Black’s “Roll in Peace” Goes Platinum
Kodak Black is currently being held in Broward County Jail without bond following his Jan. 18 arrest, but that hasn't kept the star from rising. While in jail, the 20-year-old received some positive news on the music front. According to the RIAA website, the XXXTentacion-assisted "Roll In Peace" was certified platinum on Feb. 22.
The Florida resident pled not guilty yesterday (Feb. 27) to the remaining weapon and marijuana charges stemming from the law enforcement raid of his Florida home.
The London On Da Track-produced song was the highest charting record off of Kodak's fifth mixtape, Project Baby 2. "Roll In Peace" peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Transportin'" also enjoyed time on the exclusive chart. The platinum plaque marks Kodak's third as a lead artist. At the top of 2018, the embattled rapper dropped off the "Roll In Peace" video, which has accumulated over 34 million views on YouTube since Jan. 15.
The XXL Freshman even blessed fans with a 17-track album from jail on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14), Heartbreak Kodak. The project saw features from Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne. The "Tunnel Vision" artist also sported a new haircut at his latest court appearance (Feb. 27), cutting off the dreads fans had become accustomed to seeing him with.
Congrats to Kodak Black for another platinum hit.
