LA 27 Closed Due to Overturned Semi

Stater Trooper Derek Senegal, Public Information Officer for Louisiana State Police Troop D, reports La. 27 is temporarily closed south of Singer. An 18-wheeler hauling concrete-making materials overturned this morning and is blocking the roadway in both directions. The semi was reportedly traveling northbound when the driver lost control in a curve, struck a guardrail, and rolled over.

The accident took place between George Kendall Road and Catfish Farm Road. Thankfully, no one was injured. According to Trooper Senegal, road crews are on the scene and working to remove the damaged rig. Motorists traveling southbound are is being detoured to LA. 109. All northbound traffic is being rerouted from Arthur Irwin Road at LA. 389 and diverted to LA 109.

The roadway should be cleared within the next few hours. Travel safely!
