World AIDS Day takes place on December 1 every year and serves as a reminder of the global struggle to end HIV-related illnesses and stigmas. It's also a time for us to unite against the stigmas, promote awareness, and honor the family and friends we lost. The theme of World AIDS Day 2023 is: Let Communities Lead.

Friday, December 1, the Lake Charles Comprehensive Care Clinic of SWLA (425 Kingsley Street) is planning a free testing and community health and wellness event. If you are sexually active or concerned about your health, it's important to know your status. Knowledge is power! Plus, testing is free and confidential and will take place at the Lake Charles clinic from 11 am - 1 pm.

Everyone who gets a test during this World Aids Day event will receive a free lunch! If you're concerned about your health, have questions, or are just curious about what the clinic has to offer the door is always open.

Together, we can work toward a day when HIV/Aids is no longer a threat to public health.
