Mayor Latoya Cantrell of New Orleans was asked again at her press conference today about the Saints welcoming fans into the Superdome for upcoming home games. Cantrell noted that Tiger Stadium, "Could be a great place, temporarily" when referring to the Saints potentially taking their home games to Baton Rouge.

NOLA.com is reported the story and you can see Mayor Cantrell's full answer here.

The New Orleans Saints have been in talks with the administration at LSU about holding future home games in Tiger Stadium.

Mayor Cantrell has not allowed more than 750 family and friends of the team into the Superdome for Saints' home games so far this season.

LSU has hosted just over 20,000 fans in Tiger Stadium at their only home game of the season thus far.

Mayor Cantrell has been firm in her reasoning behind not allowing fans into the Superdome, citing that no stadium in the U.S. has held fans inside of an indoor stadium so far.

That isn't entirely true, as teams around the NFL including the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Indianapolis Colts have all held home home games in their closed roof stadiums. These teams all have the options to retract and open up their stadiums, but have played games with the roof closed this season.

If the Saints do end up holding future home games at Tiger Stadium, they will have to adhere to the same rules that are in place for LSU games which include masks for fans in the stadium, social distancing, 25% capacity, and no tailgating.

The Saints next home game is on October 25, 2020 against the Carolina Panthers.
