It’s a been a week and people are still talking about Rich Homie Quan messing up The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Get Money” lyrics during Lil Kim’s performance on VH1 Hip-Hop Honors.

But Lil’ Kim has come to the Atlanta rapper’s defense once again and says that his bad performance wasn’t entirely his fault. In an interview with Sway Calloway, Queen Bee says she invited Quan to perform because she was unable to secure any of her rap friends because of prior engagements.

“He just jumped on that plane," she said of the RHQ's eagerness to join her. "And the whole thing was he was coming to f--- with Lil' Kim. He was coming to support Lil' Kim. He did not know at that time that he was going to be performing ‘Get Money.’ He didn’t know that.”

Kimmy also stated that "Get Money" was added to the setlist at the last minute, which only gave Quan little time to prepare. Although he did perform the entire verse at rehearsal without any problems, Lil' Kim believes that the "Some Type of Way" rapper felt the pressure of performing the late legendary rapper's classic verse.

“He was very nervous,” she said. “He’s such a good person. He was like, ‘It’s an honor that y’all would even put me in this position to fill such big shoes.'"

Although Rich Homie Quan apologized for flubbing Biggie lyrics, fans had fun roasting him on social media. However, Questlove says the fans are to blame for RHQ's blunder at the Hip-Hop Honors event.
