Houston Hip-Hop Star Lil Troy is Alive and Well

According to website hip-hopvibe.com, Lil Will, the cousin of Houston hip-hop star Lil Troy, died in an auto-accident when the car he was driving hit a tree and his vehicle caught fire. Lil Will was featured on Troy’s 1998 hit “Wanna Be a Baller,” along with Fat Pat, Yungstar, and Big T.

After news circulated online came contradictory reports that Lil Troy was the person killed in the fiery crash, which is simply not true. False headlines like the one below, were most likely used with the intent to gain more traffic to the website. The act known as "click bait” is not illegal, but is certainly frowned upon.

I spoke with Troy over the phone briefly today, and he’s alive and well. To the family and friends of Lil Will we extend our condolences.
