A few months ago, Macklemore was involved in a head-on car crash that left his vehicle totaled. While the Seattle rapper was able to walk away unscathed, he has remained tight-lipped about the incident until now. Speaking with 92.3 AMP Radio, Macklemore said there was a "split second" where he thought he was going to die but revealed everyone in his car was safe after the crash.

According to the rapper, he was driving his nephews home when a car came around a corner going "almost 50."

He said, "There’s just that split second of like, ‘I’m gonna die,’ — boom — and then you get hit. I thought the other guy was dead, everyone in my car was safe — my little 10-year-old nephew was using curse words that I didn’t know he knew."

Still, Macklemore called the event "super scary" and insisted the driver of the other car was "obviously drunk." He continued, "There’s no way that anybody sober would have been driving that fast trying to make that turn. We were just lucky that the car that I was in was very much like a tank and took it very well… but if that wouldn’t have been the case I might not be here today.”

The Gemini artist also offered some words of advice for anyone thinking about drinking and driving, saying, "Take Ubers, walk, take the bus. Just don't drink and drive. It's not worth it."

Macklemore is set to drop his solo album, Geminion Sept. 22. The album includes the singles "Glorious" and "Marmalade" and features appearances from Skylar Grey, Lil Yachty, Offset, Eric Nally and more.
